PT Anchorage Group Indonesia in collaboration with SMU (Singapore Management University) Academy launched a “Commodity and Trade Finance” programme on 20th August 2019 at KADIN (Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry) in Jakarta, Indonesia. Gracing the launch was Pak Benny Soetrisno, key member of Indonesian National Economic and Industry (KEIN) and DR. Handito Joewono, Chairman of Export Development Committee (KADIN), and Pak Anas Bahfen from the Indonesia Textile Association.
As a large trading economy, Indonesia exports a lot of its natural resources from coal and iron to agricultural products such as palm oil and timber. Indonesia also imports a lot of products from overseas such as consumer goods and steel. A lot of these activities involve trading of such goods across borders. This program will enable participants to be armed with more knowledge of how to trade and what to look out for when they are involved in trading activities.
The trainers for the sessions are carefully selected with each of them having decades of practical experience handling actual challenging events in the trade finance subjects. We are collaborating closely with Singapore Management University (SMU) Academy to ensure this program gives participants high quality content conducted by experienced practitioners, with knowledge takeaways that will immediately help them in their careers or areas of work.
These sessions will prove to be very useful especially for Bankers, Traders, Government Agency Employees, Business Owners and Managers. Even for participants who are already knowledgeable about trade finance, these sessions will also refresh their know how by co-learning through practical cases and interactive discussions with the trainers, and also through sharing with fellow participants in the sessions.
Under each of the sessions, participants will learn the fundamental and practical concepts of trade finance. There will also be case studies shared with participants to apply such concepts. Every participant will receive a Certificate of Participation for each session attended and for those who complete all the 4 sessions will be awarded with the Executive Certificate.
