This Training Programme customized specifically for PT Bank Mandiri(Persero) Tbk. As a large trading economy, Indonesia exports a lot of its natural resources from coal and iron to agricultural products such as palm oil and timber. Indonesia also imports a lot of products from overseas such as consumer goods and steel. A lot of these activities involve trading of such goods across borders. This program enables participants to be armed with more knowledge of how to trade and what to look out for when they are involved in trading activities. The trainers for this course are carefully selected with each of them having decades of practical experience handling actual challenging events in the trade finance subjects.
We are collaborating closely with Singapore Management University (SMU) Academy to ensure this program gives participants high quality content conducted by experienced practitioners, with knowledge takeaways that will immediately help them in their careers or areas of work.
Commodity and Trade Finance training was held at Bank Mandiri Corporate University premisses in Tanah Abang online via Zoom by trainer(s) in SMU Campus live. Total audiences were 61 participants, divided into 2 batches from Bank Mandiri Indonesia, Singapore and Hongkong. The 1st batch held on 1, 2, 8, 9, 16 November 2021 with 31 participants and 2nd batch held on 3, 5, 10, 11,18 November 2021 with 30 participants.
PT Anchorage Group Indonesia in collaboration with Singapore Management University (SMU) provides “Commodity and Trade Finance” course for 5 full days of training, and at the end of training all participants will have:
- Better understanding of global transaction banking;
- Appreciate the importance of trade finance and the risks involved;
- Learn how various trade finance solutions work to meet customers’ needs at different stages of a business operating cycle;
- Acquire basic understanding of Incoterms, the various ICC rules and common types of documents in trade finance.

The training focus on a participant-centered learning method, based on an interactive approach supported by relevant real case studies and group breakout / discussion sessions online. On Day 1 of the programme, Trainer(s) assigned 6 group Case Studies to 6 groups of participants for in-depth Presentation on the 5th Day. The remaining 4 mini-case studies discussed as mini-case studies over the first 4 Days.
Each participant in this programme presented with a Singapore Management University (SMU) Executive Certificate in Commodity and Finance as well as Certificate of Participation upon completion of a 5 Full–Days Programme.
